Gnoyny, Nyusha and Kirkorov on STS. How it was? “A very well-read boy”: Philip Kirkorov about Purulent and a possible duet Purulent agrit Kirkorov

“The King of Russian Variety” gave a long interview to “Teleprogramma” magazine, in which he talked about the upcoming show “Success” for STS, meeting Gnoyny and much more.

On November 5, the STS TV channel will host the premiere of the talent show “Success”, the jury of which will include Philip Kirkorov and Slava KPSS, aka Gnoyny. Today Kirkorov’s interview was released for the TV Program publication about his acquaintance with Slava, his attitude towards rap music, YouTube and much more.

By the way, when asked whether he and Gnoiny would record a joint song, Philip replied: “If the idea seems interesting to me, why not?”

We present the most interesting points, and you can read the full text.

About Gnoiny and the battle with Oksimiron

A month ago they showed me the battle [of Purulent and Oksimiron]. This got me excited! A very well-read boy. This is not just a swear word.

I'm not a snob. What, I didn't hear the word […]? I don't blush at the word "ass". My parents never raised their voices at each other in their lives, and it was also calm at the Gnessin School. But then it all came crashing down on me. Therefore, you won’t surprise me with the slang and what they said to each other. And we say worse things. But not so educated!

About first impression

About attitude to rap

I don’t really like rap music, I’ve never been attracted to this style, although I became one of the first rappers in this country by recording “My Bunny.”

On November 5, the first episode of the show “Success” was released on the STS TV channel. The host of the program was Vera Brezhny, and the jury included Philip Kirkorov, Nyusha and Slava CPSU (Gnoyny).

Gnoyny’s participation in “Success” became known back in October, when STS released a promotional video for the new show. In the video, the rapper approaches Kirkorov, who is sitting on the throne, and declares: “Your hype is worth nothing.”

Many then accused Slava of contradicting himself, because he heads the Antihype movement, and together with Oksimiron he said the phrase “I’d rather die with a [damned] noname.” Later, in an interview with Meduza, Gnoyny explained that he just wants to “earn money for an apartment.”

I came to TV so that people who are rejected by the unviable and dead pop formation also have a chance to succeed. Antihype, baby Gnoyny

After the presentation of the jury members, the contestants began to perform. The first was Dan Rozin, and the first thing Gnoyny did was joke about his name.

Your father wasn't a Naruto fan? It would just be crazy to shout your name like Rosin Dan! A joke for those who understand

Then Slava began to “pressure” Dan and ask provocative questions.

I wonder why such young people who look good come to the show “Success?” Purulent

To advance further in the competition, participants must receive three blue rings from all members of the jury. If even one says no, the person will have to leave. Despite Gnoyny's reaction, Dan Rozin received three favorable marks.

Valery Tekel on the show “Success”

By the middle of the release, the first rap artist, Valery Tekel, appeared on stage. In March 2017, he participated in the Dom-2 project. Commenting on his performance, Philip Kirkorov said that he does not quite understand this kind of music, but he has many foreign rappers as friends. Gnoyny could not contain his curiosity and asked who exactly. To this, Philip replied “Eminem,” which made Slava laugh.

When it was Gnoyny’s turn to comment on the participant, he began with a joke about Oksimiron.

I listened carefully to your text. So you are building an empire, right? We had one here who was building an empire. Do you know how he ended up? Purulent

He assessed Tekel himself as a capable guy, but said that there was no sincerity in his songs. However, the participant did not drop out of the competition.

As a result, the first 4 performers were selected, but the program did not end there. The next participants who took the stage had to challenge one of the previous ones. And if the applicant sings better, he will take his place.

In the second part of the show, Gnony put on sunglasses and met a new rap artist with criticism. When Kirkorov asked whether there was any rapper better than himself, Slava began to list the names already announced earlier: “Lenin Package”, Khan Zamai.

Oleg Loza on the show “Success”

When it seemed that nothing interesting would happen, a participant named Oleg Loza appeared on stage. Yes, yes, this is a son who has recently not only been singing, but also actively criticizing everyone he can. As a result, my son also passed the selection.

Rap fans were quite surprised that Gnoyny, who opposed the mainstream, went on television, especially entertainment. “I came to TV so that people who are rejected by an unviable, dead pop formation also have a chance to succeed,” the rap artist justifies. watched as STS tried to enter the last carriage of the departing train with the inscription “hype”, turning the former system administrator into a music expert.

Today you and I are hype

In August 2017, the country went crazy. Suddenly it became clear that in Russia there is an original rap, which not only interests someone, but is also the subject of heated discussions. It turned out that young people are heavily hooked on rap battles, communicate in an incomprehensible language, and, suddenly, think in completely different categories. “Let’s make some noise”, “round”, “reel talk” poured into the masses in a stormy stream, everyone started talking about punches and raised “hype” to the level of a problem of national importance.

The spectacle seemed funny and absurd, given that rap battles in Russia were not a new phenomenon. Battles have been steadily collecting millions of views on YouTube for quite some time, young people were arguing. And the organizers of rap fights have learned to raise good money for them.

All-Russian hype arose around the battles after Oksimiron’s fight with the man known as Gnoyny or Slava - Vyacheslav Mashnov. Oksimiron, a popular and well-known rapper who was considered the best battle rapper in the country, lost to Mashnov, who, compared to the daring and savvy Oksimiron, always looked somewhat bourgeois. In the hope of attracting a younger audience (an eternal headache for TV channels, which are constantly looking for ways to get not only old people and housewives to turn on the TV), the battle participants were dragged to federal channels. And if Oksimiron refused new fame (the rapper did not attend a single show), then Gnoyny took full advantage of it: he visited Yuri Dud, thought about music as best he could on the “Culture” channel, and recently, together with, became a member of the jury of a vocal competition “ Success" on STS. In early November, when the excitement around Oksimiron and Gnoyny subsided, the premiere of “Success” took place.

Kirkorov's purulent agriitis

According to the authors, the show “Success” should prove that “it is possible to become a superstar without the support of a famous label.” By superstar we probably mean Mashnov, who toppled the all-powerful Oksimiron from his pedestal. In the advertising campaign that accompanied the launch of the show, this theme was developed: judging by the promotional videos, now Gnoyny must “drop” the king of the stage himself - Philip Kirkorov. Together they sit on the jury of “Success” and the entire program is centered around bickering, often far-fetched. In addition to Kirkorov and Gnoyny, the singer Nyusha sits on the jury, who usually acts as a mediator in their clashes.

Gnoiny is assigned the role of a free artist, despising the stage and egging Kirkorov on. For example, Gnoyny, whom the king of pop calls Slava and “you,” tries to get him emotional, constantly reminding him of the old hit “My Bunny.” Gnoyny’s importunity irritates Kirkorov and at some point, during a debate about the importance of rhymes, the owner of 20 Golden Gramophone statuettes says: “Oh my God. You have some psychological problems with this song. Either you f*** the rabbits, or they f*** you.”

Gnoyny is trying to joke. For example, regarding the connection between the first and last name of the contestant Dan Rozin with the Japanese anime “Naruto”. The jury member did not like the fact that the young man who came to the show was a Muscovite. This caused some confusion among those around him.

“In general, it’s clear that you are a Muscovite. So your shirt is carelessly buttoned with one button,” Gnoyny began. “Is this bad, or what?” - Kirkorov is interested. “No, nothing bad. It’s just that I see a person from childhood surrounded by successful people.” Purulent irritably tried to find out what the polished contestant was willing to do for the sake of success. It didn't come to a conflict. “Is it bad that he’s a Muscovite?” - Kirkorov asked. “Yes, of course,” says the rapper. “Slava, where are you from?” “From Khabarovsk,” the rapper answers impressively.

“If someone needs to be sung into the board, I will sing.”

Gnoyny is practicing his image. He tests the pop performers who come to the project with different variations of the question “what are you willing to do for the sake of success,” and tries to unsettle them. It doesn't always work out. This happened with Arsen Jalavyan, who performed Elena Vaenga’s song. Answering Gnoyny’s question whether he would be able to perform at the funeral, he replied that “if you need to sing the funeral service for someone, I will sing the funeral service.”

Then a kind coach woke up in the rapper, who advised Arsen not to listen to anyone around him and to act only according to his own understanding. “I’m just listening to myself,” he objected, probably doubting the mentor’s qualifications. But Gnoyny did not let up.

And here Gnoyny demonstrates his ability to unleash the artist’s potential.

“You’re building an empire, right? We had one here, you know how he ended up"

The atmosphere thickens when rapper Valery Tekel, who, according to him, wrote the music for the song “Caste,” appears on stage. Tekel came to the project (he had previously joined a more popular project - “House-2”) with his own composition, says that he is not afraid of Gnoyny and will “lay it hard.”

Mashnov listened to his colleague and was dissatisfied. “I listened carefully to your text. You're building an empire, right? We had one here who was building an empire. You know how he ended up,” Gnoyny says with gusto, probably hinting at Oksimiron, who read his poems about the need to build an empire in a Reebok advertisement.

The expert did not like the performer. He considered it unreal, “a completely artificial construct,” and reproached him for not surprising him.

It is clear that STS carefully prepared to bring the rapper on stage. Tekel had a mission - to become a reason for an educational program about what rap is and the state of this trend in Russia. they even prepared a special text in which the presenter explains that rap is now so popular that Oksimiron is being assembled by entire “Olympic” stadiums. Oksimiron would hardly be happy about such a neighborhood.

“And for the first time in our project, rap sounds - the most popular music of our days,” Brezhnev begins with the intonation of a Soviet announcer, dressed in a revealing metallic mini. Vera Polozkova, came across the disdain of a rap specialist. “I didn’t notice anything special in the text, and considering that you like Vera Polozkova... In general, everything is clear to me,” the author of the songs “Fixies,” “Kaplya Pikh Pokh” and “No Bitch Needed” said sarcastically.

Astrovskaya was allowed through to the next stage on the condition that she write a song about feminism.

The organizers of the show decided to be faithful to the concept to the end, and therefore at the finale of the show they staged something like a battle. The fact is that not just anyone came to the program, but the son of Yuri Loza, opera singer, baritone Oleg Loza. He did not have enough place in the team that would continue to participate in the project further, so he was offered to challenge one of the performers who had already qualified for the next round to a duel. Loza's choice fell on Tekel. The latter chose the “Caste” song “Make Dreams” for the battle. And in vain, because the fastidious rap expert did not like either the music or the words of this song. And in general, Vladi is no longer the same, he concluded.
