App for identifying clothes. The Best Apps for Organizing Your Wardrobe

This is an online editor that allows you to create sets of clothes, jewelry, cosmetics, etc. Thanks to easy navigation, you can create interesting images, shaping your style and developing your imagination. It contains a huge database of clothing from world brands, and almost any item can be bought, for each item there is a price and a link to the store (unfortunately, it is impossible to check all stores for the possibility of delivery to Russia).

Using Polyvore is not as difficult as it seems.

So, part one, introductory.

The main page looks like this:

First you need to register. To do this, click the button of the same name in the upper right corner or the “Login” button if you have an account. I log in via Facebook.

After you have registered, you can walk around the site and explore it. You can select categories, or you can view everything at once.

When you hover your cursor over any item from the set, the following information appears in a pop-up window: name, cost, address of the online store where you can buy it. There, the editor offers to like, look at other sets with this item and buy something from this category.

Below are used items, each in its own window, and similar sets. Buttons:

Comments - comments,
Likes - list of “liked” people,
Collections - collections with this set are shown here,
Contests, groups - displays competitions and groups in which this set of clothes participates or is a member.

Collages can also be made not only from clothes, but also from furniture...

To make your own set, you just need to drag the item you like from the categories on the right. Open “Tops”: you can sort by price, or by color.

You can sort by color in any category.

In the search bar, you can enter the name of a clothing item, style or brand.

So, let's drag objects.

Any picture can be stretched, tilted, deleted, rotated around its axis horizontally and vertically, copied and moved forward and backward relative to other pictures.

6. Pictures can be moved forward and backward as you wish.

Having pulled the jeans back, I discovered that the edge of the picture with the top was poorly processed:

Each picture has its own mini-editor; when you select an item of clothing, in the upper right corner you can select the parameters - transparent or opaque background, and change it there:

And thus, create your own set by dragging and editing clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, adding backgrounds and inscriptions:

The set can then be published. In the upper left corner, click the appropriate button and, if desired, fill out the following fields:
Name,
Description (in the form of hashtags),
Category (required)
and indicate whether to share the set on social networks:

After publishing your set in Polyvore, you can embed it into your blog. In the window that opens, you can choose the type in which your set will be published: just a picture, a picture with captions of used items, with images of used items, and so on. You can also choose which items will be shown by removing and checking the boxes. You can also change the size of the image and attribute it to your blog, but only Tumblr, Blogger and Wordpress are available. Then copy the link from the bottom window and paste it in the desired place in your text.

Life is changing rapidly. Every day a lot of new technologies appear, and almost our entire life now fits into a mobile phone.

Using mobile applications, you can easily call a taxi, set a table for twenty people in the middle of the night, order food to your home; pay for purchases; check the expiration date of the product; get a doctor's consultation and even check your horoscope compatibility with a new acquaintance!

Of course, the developers did not ignore such an important issue as the wardrobe. Today there are a lot of applications that will tell you how to dress for the weather or a specific occasion. They will not forget about the blouse that has fallen into the far corner of the closet, and they will remind you of it when you buy new jeans and are looking for something to wear them with.

Today we’ll talk about which mobile apps about clothes you should download to your phone.

1) Of course, first of all it is worth mentioning Polyvore.

We already wrote about this mobile application several years ago, and since then Polyvore has not lost any of its relevance. On the contrary, the application is gaining more and more fans, providing better functionality and even more freedom for creativity and self-expression.

The Polyvore app is now not only used by fashion bloggers and shopping lovers to create fashionable images, it is also happily used by graphic designers, interior designers and creative individuals to create moodboards. Add magazine and book covers, architectural objects, posters; create your own headlines and inspirational captions.

The application is ideal for creating illustrations for a fashion blog, for inspiration and finding ideas.

2) Pinterest

This is not just an application. Pinterest is a modern Bible of inspiration and an inexhaustible source of ideas.

According to Wikipedia: “Pinterest is a social Internet service and photo hosting site that allows users to add images online and place them in thematic collections and share them with other users.” If you run your own Instagram profile or blog, then this is the easiest place to get ideas for photos, but also don’t be lazy to post your own images here, thus increasing traffic to your page.

One of the best news for fashionistas is that Pinterest has launched a visual image recognition service. That is, very soon it will be possible to simply take a photo of an image you like in a window or on a passerby - and Pinterest will tell you where you can find/buy similar things.

3) Size converter

A handy thing when you often travel abroad and raid stores at the request of friends. With the help of a converter, it is easier to choose clothes for a child and not make a mistake with your own size in a different size chart.

There are several applications, and they all have approximately similar functionality. Choose the one you like the interface. We liked the simple and straightforward (iOS).

4) GoodLook: helps you create outfits based on today’s weather.

The application is a feed of collages with fashionable sets. There is also an “Inspiration” tab with pictures from the Instagram profiles of popular trendsetters and bloggers.

When you click on the item you like from the suggested image, you will be taken to a page where you can buy it. In general, the application is rather disappointing due to the uniformity and predictability of combinations, as well as the impossibility of creating your own sets. However, if you like to save time on purchases, then you will like the opportunity to immediately buy the item you like on the store’s website.

5) And the most interesting, in our opinion, and useful application that can really help with organizing your wardrobe is the LookBook application.

Using this program, you can photograph and organize all your clothes, divide them into categories and create different looks for a particular occasion.

All resulting collages can be stored directly in the application, can be saved as images and printed, and can also be shared with friends and family.

The same application will be useful if you sell your clothes in Shafe: the item for sale can be supplemented with an illustration with ready-made stylistic solutions.

What applications do you use? Share with us in the comments, and we will definitely tell you about them in the next reviews!

Fashion-related gadget apps are nothing new. They are produced in hundreds and thousands, so finding truly necessary and useful ones is quite difficult. Wonderzine lists 10 programs for iPhone and iPad that will make organizing your wardrobe and shopping easier.

The most convenient app for wardrobe management according to The NY Times and Wired. You need to take a photo of the outfit and indicate which category it belongs to: casual, work, evening, vacation or sports wear. You can also add information about the look (what do you want to remember about it?) and tags (for example, type of item - dress and shoes, clothing brands - H&M and Prada). The application has an additional advantage - the option of combining an outfit with the weather: each look can be tied to a specific temperature, rain, wind or snow. Then Cloth will suggest a set of clothes according to the current weather.

The Russian application will help you when traveling abroad or when making purchases in online stores. With its help, you can convert clothing sizes from Russian to American, British, Japanese and others. In this case, the size can be determined by entering your parameters in several systems of units.

If you don't have ours at hand, Scarf Fashion Designer will come in handy. The app teaches you how to tie shawls and scarves on your head, neck, bag, as well as weave them into your hair and make tops, skirts and belts from the material. All methods have instructions with illustrations, including animated ones. For guys, there is an analogue application - How to Tie a Tie: it teaches you how to tie bowties and ties correctly and even put scarves in your pocket.

Correct pronunciation of brand names causes difficulties even for experienced editors, and one video lesson from our colleagues from Furfur will not get rid of this. Speak Chic will help with three hundred designers and brands: here you can read the phonetic transcription of the name and listen to audio with its pronunciation. You can find both popular brands like Hermès and Yves Saint Laurent, as well as lesser-known brands - for example, Solange Azagury-Partridge. Speak Chic also tells a brief history of each brand. With such an application you can go shopping with a clear conscience.

The application was created by a Vogue intern and Lucky columnist - you must agree, this is a serious application. With its help, you can curate your wardrobe - keep track of tops and skirts that a person already has, and plan future purchases - Stylebook is connected to the Shopstyle service, which works with 7,000 retailers. The app contains sources of inspiration for creating a wardrobe - shooting and street style, as well as interviews on the relevant topic with fashion industry professionals.

The Village is running a new column, “Less is Better,” in which it tells you where it’s cheaper to buy classic Levi’s 501 or Vans. If you are focused on shopping in online stores, PriceGrabber will help you more. If you know the article or name of the product, then the application will find where to buy it at the lowest price. In the case of designer items, this is important: the difference in the cost of a pair of Givenchy shoes of 5,000 or 7,000 rubles will significantly improve the buyer’s financial situation. PriceGrabber can search not only clothes, but also other categories of things.

Fashism is a good name for a mobile application whose users ask whether the chosen outfit suits them and whether it is worth buying this or that item. It works simply: you upload a photo of a bow and the Fashism community will tell you what they think. Sometimes the advice in the app is given by the editors of Lucky magazine.

The main online auction site, eBay, not only has a general application for all product categories, but also an application focused on fashion. It's worth searching for designer items (new or used), as well as vintage items that are being sold by people from all over the world. You can search by photos from your phone, as well as by size and brand, which is quite common. If you like the minimalist Acne sweatshirt, but for some reason you don't want to buy it, then eBay Fashion can find a similar one, such as COS.

The first of the applications is for women, the second is for men, but they have the same functionality. According to the developers, Stylish Girl and Cool Guy provide an opportunity to take a fresh look at your wardrobe. The user uploads photos of their items and looks for unusual ways to mix them. He can also ask friends for fashion advice. The application has a calendar of looks and a wish list for online purchases. Perhaps the most useful feature of Stylish Girl and Cool Guy is the ability to pack your suitcase on your phone: this way you won’t forget anything and won’t take too much.

Have you ever wondered why the crowd is called the gray mass? Despite the fact that there may be many colorfully dressed people in it, we are nevertheless able to distinguish only a few well-dressed ones, whom, in turn, we follow with our gaze. But what about those whom we did not notice? Perhaps someone walked past you wearing jeans from the latest CK collection with a Prada handbag on their shoulder. But this did not help to attract your attention. Why?

Today we will talk about how to create outfits that will speak of you as a stylish woman and why this long definition can be shortened to one word “look”.

The concept of “look” (from the English “look” - appearance) became widespread in the Russian language several years ago with the popularization of the so-called street fashion and its “carriers” - fashion bloggers, although initially it could only be found in materials about fashionable shows For comparison, the images shown during a fashion show of a designer are called “total looks” and, outside the show, in everyday life they are bad manners.

Simply put, a look implies a harmonious and creative combination of clothes and accessories in one look, depending on the occasion, place and time of day. The harmony of the image, in turn, implies the interconnection of all its details.

So, where to start putting together a fashionable outfit and how to successfully complete the task? Let's look at the main components of an onion.

Integrity. Even if you prefer to mix different styles, all the details of your look should “tell the same story.” They can be combined in three aspects: color, shape and texture. As for the latter, a game of contrast is possible here, i.e. combination of incompatible textures.

Proportions. The components of the set, like faithful assistants and friends, should compliment your figure, regardless of the size on their label. Remember the formula “tight top + wide bottom and vice versa.”

Form. It can be determined by details or patterns on clothing, the shape of accessories and shoes. It is important that all active parts have the same shape, for example, a polka dot dress complemented by round earrings. Accordingly, the glasses and belt buckle should also reference (or at least not interrupt) the basic shape.

Dominant or focal point - a detail on which attention is concentrated, designed to “formulate” the idea of the composition of your outfit. The dominant feature can be not only accessories, shoes and decor on clothes, but even the hairstyle and, as fashion expert Evelina Khromchenko says, the radiant look of its owner.

A color scheme is perhaps the most important part of a great bow. The concept of “color blocking” (from the English color block) can cope with the task of selecting a color scheme - this is a trend of recent seasons, which involves a combination of 2-3 bright and clear colors, and it is not at all necessary to combine them along the color wheel . But it is very important not to deviate from the rule - no more than 3 colors in one set.

A competent combination of more colors may require the help of a specialist.

Another definition of “total color” (from the English total color - only one color) assumes that the set allows only one color without any other shades.

The appearance of shades is also possible and can be expressed very well, but such a composition will be monochrome.

These are the main ways to create a harmonious image. If possible, I will supplement this material with subsequent articles that cover some points.

My dear readers, you can note in the comments to this article the topics that you would like to read about in this section.

I will be glad to tell you what is interesting to you.

If you are tired of the daily hassle of choosing clothes, or you have long wanted to try yourself as a stylist, five applications for Android devices will help you with this, in which you can choose clothes and create interesting images.

Stylicious

The application allows you to create your own wardrobe from the photos of clothes you take, and use the calendar to plan looks for an upcoming event or date. Note what you were wearing, for example, the day before yesterday, if you don’t want to repeat your choice of clothes. The built-in calendar helps with this. You can also read the advice of stylists and study the interesting combinations they put together and thereby develop your taste in clothes.

What to do:

- plan on the calendar what and when you are going to wear

In this application, you can share your beautiful images from Instagram, be inspired by fashionable photos of looks and choose clothes according to the weather, which stylists create especially for you, and, if you wish, buy the set you like.

Polyvore

This is my favorite app where you can express your creativity one hundred percent! A huge number of different brands of clothing, accessories, bags, but that’s not all. You can create interesting collages using photographs of models, cities, nature, food, plants, cosmetics, and even insert inscriptions from magazines and newspapers. Collages are saved in your account and, of course, you can share your creativity on social networks. You can purchase any clothes you like; to do this, you will be redirected to the brand’s online store.

LookBook

The application will help you create stylish looks for every day; you can distribute them by adding a thematic folder. My application has folders: party, walk, travel, beach, sports. Agree, this is convenient when you just need to look at the application and the question of choosing clothes disappears by itself. And of course, you can share your stylistic finds with your friends.

What to do:

- take photos of your clothes, shoes, accessories and bags
- create different images from photos of your clothes

Mod Man – Style For Men

Let's not forget about men, in this application they will be able to create looks for themselves for every day and not waste their precious time thinking about their wardrobe.
