Adobe Acrobat Professional

Adobe programs are the best suited for processing PDF files, but they have a significant drawback - they are paid. To extract a page from a PDF using Adobe Acrobat Professional, you need to:

  • Open the document from which you want to extract pages using Adobe Acrobat Professional;
  • In the left part of the window, click the “Page Thumbnails” button;
  • In the “Page Thumbnails” panel that opens, drag the thumbnails of the pages to be extracted in the desired sequence;
  • In the “Options” menu in the “Page Thumbnails” panel, select “Extract Pages”;
  • In the window that opens, enter the range of pages to be extracted;
  • If you need to delete extracted pages from the source document, check the box next to the “Delete pages after extraction” option;
  • If you need to extract pages separately, check the box next to the “Extract pages as separate files” option;
  • Click OK;
  • Save the new document. To save in another format, select the “Save As” option and select the desired format.

Online services

To extract pages from a PDF file, you can use the SmallPDF online service. To do this you need:

  • Go to the SmallPDF website (merge.smallpdf.com);
  • Drag the required files into the field labeled “Drop PDF(s) here”;
  • Press the “Page Mode” button. The document pages will be displayed on the screen;
  • Delete unnecessary pages by clicking on the cross in the corner of the page;
  • Click the “Merge PDF” button.

The new PDF file will be automatically saved to your browser's default folder.

Free programs

The free PDFSam program is suitable for editing PDF files. To extract pages using PDFSam you need:

  • Launch PDFSam, which can be downloaded from the program’s official website (pdfsam.org);
  • In the upper left corner, select “Create document”;
  • Click the “add” button;
  • In the upper window, select the pages to be extracted and drag them to the lower window;
  • In the “Destination file” line, write the name and address of the new document;
  • Click "Run".

We previously wrote about how to insert a page into a PDF document. Today we want to talk about how you can cut out an unnecessary sheet from such a file.

There are three types of programs that can remove pages from PDF files - special editors, advanced viewers and multifunctional harvester programs. Let's start with the first ones.

Method 1: Infix PDF Editor

A small but very functional program for editing documents in PDF format. Among the capabilities of Infix PDF Editor there is also the option to delete individual pages of the book being edited.

The Infix PDF Editor program is an excellent tool, but this software is distributed on a paid basis, and in the trial version a permanent watermark is added to all modified documents. If you're not comfortable with this, check out our review of PDF editing programs—many of them also have a page-delete feature.

Method 2: ABBYY FineReader

Abby's Fine Reader is powerful software for working with a variety of file formats. It is especially rich in tools for editing PDF documents, which also allow you to delete pages from the processed file.

In addition to the obvious advantages, Abby Fine Reader also has disadvantages: the program is paid, and the trial version is very limited.

Method 3: Adobe Acrobat Pro

Adobe's famous PDF viewer also allows you to cut a page from the file you are viewing. We have already reviewed this procedure, so we recommend that you read the material at the link below.

When you need to highlight certain pages from a PDF document, non-professional users have a question about how to do this. There are several options for solving this problem.

You will need

  • - document in pdf format;
  • - one of the following programs:
  • - Adobe Acrobat Professional,
  • - Adobe Reader,
  • - PDFCreator,
  • - PDF995 Printer Driver,
  • - “Photoshop”.

Instructions

  • To “pull” a page from a PDF file, the easiest way is to save a copy of the desired document and, using the editing functions, select unnecessary pages and delete them, leaving only the necessary ones.
  • In Adobe Acrobat Professional or Adobe Reader, select “Print” from the “File” menu, specify the desired pages, format, print settings and path to save the files.
  • Also, for these purposes, you can use special printer programs designed for converting pdf documents. These programs allow you to create a virtual printer on your computer system, which instantly turns a document sent for printing into pdf format. There are plenty of them on the Internet. Download any one and use it as needed. For example, PDFCreator and Pdf995 Printer Driver have proven themselves well in this regard.
  • Download and install one of the programs, then send the required pdf file to it for printing. Then, in the print settings, mark the numbers of the pages that you want to save in the document. Do not specify the pages that need to be deleted. After that, open the PDF document created in this way and check the correctness of this method. Pages you don't need will not be included in the file, which is what you needed to do.
  • As an additional option, you can use the Photoshop program. To do this, drag the document into the program. Then in the window that opens, select the page you need. Save it as a separate file and use it.
  • You can also try taking a screenshot of the document page you need. But in this case, the file page will be saved in image format.
