Detailed review

The main window consists of a main work area, a status bar (like on smartphones) and a navigation bar. Let's look at each of them in more detail.

Navigation bar

At the very top of this panel there is a button Watch TV.

Using it, you can open the BlueStacks TV additional module. Here are collected videos and streams (online broadcasts) of BlueStack 2 gamers. If we wish, we can start the broadcast ourselves; there is a special button for this. You can stream it either on Facebook Live or Twitch.

Another button is this.

After clicking it, a window will open in which you can chat with other gamers.

The next key is screen orientation. She rotates it to portrait or landscape mode.

Another control element is Screenshot. This is an analogue of a screenshot that runs differently on Android devices.

This is similar to activating GPS on all Androids.

Now we have reached the most interesting sidebar key. Using it, you can install any Android application from a pre-downloaded APK file.

The next item is the button to open the Windows file system. It is needed if we want to move any data from the computer to the emulator and back.

The next two icons are needed to work with the clipboard, these are Copy and, accordingly, Paste.

This is the volume button. She can turn sounds on or off.

And finally, the last button on the sidebar is .

After clicking the question mark icon, you will be taken to the BlueStax 2 manual page. All reference materials are translated into Russian and conveniently structured by categories.

Status bar

A status bar appears at the top of the window. It cannot be pulled down like a curtain on Android, but after launching the next application, it is displayed as a tab. Next, there is information about our account and the notification menu, which slides down like the same curtain.

It remains to talk about the settings button, clicking which opens an additional window.

Go to Preferences and see a window with several tabs:

  • are common;
  • system;
  • data;
  • notification;
  • advanced settings.

Are common

Here you can set the screen resolution of our emulator, select its language, allow it to run alongside Windows, and disable tabs from being shown in full screen mode. Here we can set the need to display a warning before closing or remove the sidebar.

System

In the system settings, you can specify the amount of RAM that will be allocated for work and set the number of CPU cores. The mode for processing 3D scenes and the resolution in the form of the number of dots per inch are also selected.

You can process game graphics in both OpenGL and Direct3D mode. For the latter to work properly, you need to have DirectX installed on Windows.

Data

In the Data section we can create a backup of all applications, extract it in BlueStacks 2 or reset it to factory settings.

Notification

In the Notifications menu, you can configure notifications from different applications by selecting them or clearing the checkboxes.

How to copy files from your computer to BlueStacks:
We copy the files needed for transfer to the SharedFolder folder (on Win7 it is located at C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\UserData\SharedFolder).

Install the program ES File Explorer (ES File Explorer) in BlueStacks, launch it, click on the icon at the top/left (globe with a phone:)) - local storage - windows - BstSharedFolder. It contains the files we need. From here we take it where we need it.

How to copy game cache/files from BB to Bluestacks

Option 1

You can make a simple batch file
Copy_cache.bat

Code:
::Set path to CACHE
set cache="C:\Android\Games\Some_Game\cache\sdcard"
cd /D %cache%
ECHO Copy the cache files
adb push Android /sdcard/Android
exit

Run either from the folder where adb.exe is located or the path to it must be registered in System Variables (in theory, after installing the Android SDK, it is registered)
My Computer - Properties - Advanced - Environment Variables - System Variables
Add the path to adb to the end of the Path variable
Code:
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;d:\PortableApps\android-sdk\platform-tools;d:\PortableApps\android-sdk\tools;

Option 2

Use Android ADB, plugin for Total Commander no lower than v7.50
Android ADB
It is installed almost automatically if you open the archive in the total itself. The plugin is accessed via the menu (button) Network/FS plugins. Which is usually to the left of the disk selection.

Option 3

Connect the system drive or folder to Bluestacks by changing the Windows registry and copy the necessary files from the emulator through a file manager like Solid Explorer (Trial)
Shared_folders.reg

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
; Allowing access to drives C and D through the file manager in Bluestacks
; Mount Windows Drives/Folders to Android Bluestacks beta
; /mnt/sdcard/bstfolder

Option 4

Use Android Commander (PC), a program for Windows that allows you to manage your programs and files

BlueStacks is a free utility for testing Android mobile applications on a PC. The emulator program allows you to synchronize smartphones and tablets with a PC, edit their phone books, and set the date and time.

To preliminary test mobile applications on Android OS, it is useful to install them on your computer. However, this process causes certain difficulties for many users, and this cannot be done without additional software.

An excellent solution to this problem is the BlueStax program, which includes several popular applications and also allows you to download others from the Play Market. Additionally, by downloading and installing BlueStacks, you can sync your mobile devices and customize their settings. In particular, you can set the date and time, edit the phone book and make changes to your account.

The main function of BlueStacks is to conveniently select Android applications for your device. When installing and uninstalling a large number of games and programs, the device's memory becomes clogged with system files, which negatively affects performance.

To avoid this, it is better to install BlueStax on your computer and test the necessary applications on it, the best of which can later be moved to your phone or tablet. On the other hand, your favorite software, like “Zombies vs Plants”, “Instagram” or “Megapolis”, can be used not only on a smartphone, but also in a more convenient format – on a PC.

Key features of BlueStacks:

  • installation of mobile applications on PC;
  • synchronization of mobile devices with a computer;
  • editing the phone book;
  • setting time and date;
  • changing account settings.

This program will undoubtedly become a useful tool for every owner of an Android device. You can greatly simplify the process of installing applications on your computer, and you will also be able to synchronize your phone or tablet.
