The Middle Ages was a brutal era that began after the fall of the largest developed civilization in Europe - the Roman Empire. On the site of once majestic cities, only ruins remained. The creators of history were barbarian tribes, which over time created their own proto-states and a system of relationships, later called feudalism. The Middle Ages could not boast of any serious achievements. Fragmentation, decentralization, clericalization and primitive legal systems slowed down the development of humanity. If the aristocracy, their squads and clergy lived relatively well, then their subjects - the third estate - would not be envied by the dead. Of course, closer to the Late Middle Ages, the situation will gradually change. But there were still few pleasant things in the life of peasants and yeomen.

A little excursion into history is necessary: ​​despite the fact that Life is Feudal takes place in a fictional world, the game almost completely copies the way of life in real medieval Europe. Of course, there are some differences, but they affect the authenticity too much. Despite all the conventions, sometimes Life is Feudal really makes you feel like you're stuck in some Longobard village.

When creating a character, the player is given a choice of three races. The Gottlungs are the conventional Franks, the Slavards are the cruel Germans, and the Khurs are the peoples of Central Asia, cavalrymen and archers. The differences between them are minimal, and the game does not give any clues about this. As well as the meaning of the characteristics that will have to be distributed. All that remains is to choose at random.

Life is Feudal is a sandbox where the main goal is to simply live. Unlike many games in the survival genre, life here flows quite calmly at first. Your only concern will be finding food and company. Although surviving in the game is quite easy, you can still die. For example, from hunger. Theoretically, you could be killed by a random bear passing by. In other cases, you will have to die at the hands of other players. But even they will be punished for this.

Life is Feudal cannot be played alone. You can try, but the process will be reminiscent of the movie “Cast Away” with Tom Hanks, where he survived on a desert island, and his only friend was a volleyball.

Players are expected to team up with each other and build a small medieval society. We warn you: if you don’t have friends or are just used to playing alone, you’re unlikely to find anything interesting here. It is simply impossible to advance in Life is Feudal without interacting with other players. These restrictions are also supported by the need for specialization. The game has a huge number of skills that develop the moment you perform the corresponding action. Do you want to become an alchemist? First, collect herbs, and then brew potions. Have you chosen a career in construction? Start by cutting and processing wood. It is impossible to become a specialist in all areas, and it is simply pointless. It takes a lot of time to develop even one skill to the maximum level. In Life is Feudal you will find an interesting, but rather monotonous progression up the craft career ladder. However, not everything is so boring. There is also war in the game.

It's also difficult to play with two or three friends. For relatively convenient and rapid development, you need to unite in clans of ten people. But there can be problems with this too. Over the year that has passed since the game launched in early access, player activity has decreased somewhat.

By creating production chains and organizing the production of equipment, you can provide the clan’s warriors with some kind of weapons and go to seize other people’s lands and property. Since the game allows you to build a real castle (and many people use it), sieges last quite a long time. The small arms here are truly medieval, so when using them you need to take into account the trajectory of the projectile. In fights using edged weapons, it is, of course, easier to hit the enemy, but you need to take into account the range of your favorite club.

Separately, it is worth mentioning construction. Small medieval settlements could not boast of the beauty of architecture (which, in general, is natural), but in Life is Feudal the monotony of wooden booths, and indeed any buildings, is a separate issue. The game still contains only a couple of models of residential buildings, craft buildings and defensive structures. Dozens of identical wooden sheds look frankly shoddy.

There is also a problem with the visual side: the environment in Life is Feudal looks worse than the old one. The animation of the characters themselves and the very sparse animal life is more like a bad puppet theater where all the actors are drunk. There were also a huge number of bugs: models getting stuck “in textures”, problems with optimization and server crashes - only a small part of what awaits those who dare to buy Life is Feudal at this stage.

The first project of the independent Russian studio Bitbox. It is conceived as a large online sandbox, but so far only part of the plan has been implemented: there is still no single world, but there are many small servers that can accommodate a maximum of 64 players (that’s why the game now bears the subtitle Your Own). In the spring, they promise to unite all the “pen”, so that all players will find themselves on a single platform with common rules, but for now everyone is free to create their own world and have fun as their heart desires. Someone creates servers with the most favorable conditions - increased pumping speed, indestructible buildings and a huge amount of food. But there are also plenty of worlds marked “Caution! Hardcore!”, where the pumping speed is slow, wild animals sit under every bush, and sometimes there is not even the right to revive - and these worlds, surprisingly, are not empty.

The beginning of the game on any server looks the same: your hero comes to his senses somewhere, almost naked and without food. There are no assistants or random passers-by on errands nearby. There is also no plot, moving along which the hero could gain levels and get a little stronger, and there are no levels, there is only a set of skills that have to be developed. You will have to study and do everything in this world on your own: come up with tasks for yourself, complete them - or just try to survive.

The world of Life is Feudal is perfect for explorers who are interested in collecting everything their eyes see and experimenting with it. Tape a piece of flint to a stick with strong grass to get an ax or pickaxe. Place a few flints in a row and you have a saw. To build a clay hut, you will have to dig up clay. And in order to plant potatoes, you must first find these potatoes growing wild. All production processes are as close to reality as possible - as far as possible in the game. If you need leather armor, you cannot knock it out of a deer or buy it from a city merchant - if only because there are no merchants here, and the city must first be built.

The most obvious thing that any settler will sooner or later do is build a house. To do this, you need to select a suitable clearing and “brand” it in a special way, declaring it your property. The main thing in your house is the door: while it is missing, anyone can go inside and rummage through the chests. Building a house may well take several weeks of your real time, so if you value it, find a strong guild that will provide you with resources and additional labor, or even immediately allocate ready-made housing.

But the fruits of one’s own labors in Life is Feudal bring much more joy than blessings that fell from the sky. You dug up this piece of land with a primitive shovel, planted a hard-earned onion in it and waited for the tiny garden to bear fruit. These apple trees grew from seedlings that you dug up in the forest at night, chilling with the thought that there seemed to be someone in the bushes nearby. And how much earth had to be dug up before there was enough clay for this tiny hut! And how cool it was to once meet another such loner and decide to survive together - from then on things went incredibly faster: we’re about to dig up the ore in the mine, build a forge, forge iron picks and start cutting stones for a big one, comfortable manor. Then we'll live!

This is roughly how you will play Life is Feudal - every evening, painstakingly, little by little, very slowly, repeating the same actions many times, mastering one recipe after another, developing your farm and accumulating resources. Of course, this kind of activity will appeal only to a certain type of people, and if you are not one of them, sooner or later you will become bored to death and you will go to war and rob. The peaceful settlers will hate you - but even they, deep down in their souls, must admit that without you this world would be completely dull.

You can attack other players anywhere, but the game still does not encourage senseless killings: karma gradually decreases (here it is called worldview). Your worldview improves with prayers, but once it reaches a certain level, the deities will stop responding to your supposed repentance. After this, death for you will mean the loss of skill points and characteristics. The only way to get around this limitation is to acquire a blunt weapon that does not kill the victim, but sends him into a deep faint and allows him to pick his pockets.

You shouldn’t count on easy money: any farmer can fight back against a robber. There are no classes in Life is Feudal, the player can upgrade any skill - and if he, for example, is good with a shovel, then with the same shovel, which he usually uses to dig beds, he can very successfully hit you on the crown. There is no magic in the game, and the fights are more like tavern brawls than graceful duels. A combat system without target acquisition and only blows delivered with the tip count: just stand too close or slightly turn the camera away, and all blows will go to waste. Of course, you cannot pierce chain mail with a flint knife, and rags will not protect you from a steel sword - so usually the one who is better dressed or armed wins a duel.

For those who don’t like petting things and robbing passers-by, but respect big fights, the game has guild wars. Gathering in a crowd, you can attack someone else's city or storm a fortress. Usually guild territories are protected by a special monument, but its effect is not permanent. At the moment when the guard falls, an army armed with homemade bows and swords can break into someone else's possessions, force all the defenders to surrender, and kill or stun those who did not surrender.

Life is Feudal already looks quite good and thoughtful, although technically it is still far from perfect: freezes, crashes, server rollbacks - all this spoils the feeling of the game. As soon as several players simultaneously start digging a ditch or start leveling an area for a hut, the entire server immediately begins to slow down. The worlds are constantly restarting, erasing the results of the work of all the settlers - and they have to start all over again. Surprisingly, many, although they sigh, return, usually with the words “now that I know the game, I will do everything much better.”

However, it is not the technical difficulties that cause the greatest concern. The most difficult question to answer is what will make people play not for a day or a week - but for months and years? What will they do after they set up their own estate, village, city, fortress? Why would they go to war with their neighbors if any resources could just as easily be obtained on their own territory? For a while, you can fight just for the sake of fighting. But how long will this be enough and what will happen next?

Life is Feudal is a good little game that successfully combines elements of Minecraft and survival games. If you are not embarrassed by the fact that here you are practically powerless alone and the idea of ​​saving materials for armor for six months does not frighten you, try it. The game costs one and a half thousand rubles, but this is quite an adequate price for the opportunity to experience first-hand what it was like to live in the real Middle Ages.

Guild

In this game project, it is not only possible, but also necessary to create your own guild. But they have divisions into levels depending on the different position of such an organization in a given world.

  • Gang. Technically, a gang cannot be called a guild. It's just a group of fighters trying to create their own guild. Gangs have no right to take part in global political changes. Also, this group of players does not have the opportunity to bear the name of the guild, as well as tags (guild signs) that would distinguish them from other participants in the game project. The gang has no territory (claim). The minimum number of participants is 1.
  • Order Some kind of guild that does not have any territory (claim). The minimum number of participants is 10, forming a permanent group. Ideal for small guilds who want to stand out in this world, and mercenaries. The Order is already gaining the opportunity to take part in a global political change in reputation in relation to other guilds. Members of the order have the right to wear a name and tags (badges).
  • A country. The guild that built the monument was given the opportunity to own the land. The country has the right to take part in global politics, as well as change its reputation in relation to other countries and kingdoms. Members of a country have the right to bear the name and tags of the guild. The minimum number of participants is 10.
  • Kingdom. A country that has accepted at least one request for protection. The working principle of a kingdom is the same as that of a country, but the kingdom is endowed with a unique name and political reputation with its automatic application to the subject countries. In other words, a kingdom is the leading guild in an alliance of different guilds. The minimum number of participants is 10. The minimum number of countries subordinate to the kingdom is 1.

Interaction

In this game project, interaction with a huge virtual world is carried out in fairly simple ways.

  • Context menu. To open, you need to press RMB or the “Q” key on any moving or stationary object, player, cell of your inventory in “peaceful mode” or area of ​​the landscape. A context menu is provided for all the features that are available to your character, as well as for the objects with which the character interacts. Opportunities that the hero does not know or that he cannot perform when interacting with one or another type of object do not have a context menu.

Note: Do not forget to mark certain features of the default context menu by right-clicking on them. Thanks to this, you simply click LMB on objects without calling up the context menu, and this significantly speeds up the gameplay.

  • Possibilities. Quick access panels. Having opened the “skill book” using the “L” key (by default), you need to drag the symbol of the required ability onto the quick access panel. At the same time, remember to enable the interface settings mode (F10). By pressing the assigned button on the hotbar, the ability you previously selected will be applied.
  • Combat mode (with weapons). To switch between "combat" and "peaceful" modes, press the "R" key. In combat mode, you have access to one of four slots that are intended for weapons. Direct interaction with your victim occurs while you are swinging your weapon.

Combat system

The medieval world of Life is Feudal is realistic and harsh. There is no magic in this world, so combat confrontations are limited to real types of medieval battles.

Melee

Unique gameplay features include close combat, which aims to be as realistic as possible.


  • It's worth keeping the enemy within the effective range of your weapon. If you have a spear, you can deal less or no damage if the enemy is close enough to you to use a short sword against you.
  • Don't forget to monitor your character's stamina. Constantly attacking enemies can cause your stamina bar to drop. In this case, your hero has to stop and during this time he will not be able to perform any actions. He needs time to catch his breath. At this time, your character is extremely vulnerable.
  • Constant movement is not always the key to victory. Attacks performed by your hero while standing firmly on both feet deal much more damage to the enemy.

About the character

  3. The male character's horse has default dimensions, so it is easy to hit, but the rider on the horse is more comfortable using a pike or sword because of this. Ambiguous.
  4. The male model is much larger, making it easier to kill by any means. This is a minus.
  5. It will be impossible to squeeze into narrow secret places on the map.

For a man, it is best to choose the infantry or cavalry class.

About the advantages and disadvantages of the female model:

  1. The female model is correspondingly smaller than the male model, which allows her to get into secret places that are inaccessible to men. Plus.
  2. Due to its small size, it is very difficult to hit it, and especially to knock it off a horse. Plus.
  3. Women's horses are very small - this is good because it is more difficult to hit, but this makes it more difficult for women to wield pikes or swords as riders. Both a plus and a minus.
  4. The female character's weapon model is very small, and because of this, the range of action is very small.

I advise women to play as a shooter. And if you need a peaceful profession, then definitely a miner.

After you have chosen a unique name for your character, you need to customize your appearance. The same race, secretly, does not matter in the future, but at the beginning it sets the basic characteristics, as well as the armor with which you will be equipped. If you can’t decide, then take a look at the store, where the types of armor for each race are listed.

Now I will tell you about the character’s parameters, what they are and what they affect.

  • Force- it tells you the maximum available weight of the weapon that will suit you best, but it also determines the maximum weight of all equipment. At the start, it is best to set strength to 20, which will give you starting protection at first.
  • Dexterity- shows how accurate you will be when shooting long-range weapons, and also determines the rate of stamina regeneration during battle.
  • Body type- shows how many lives you will have. Accordingly - 1 unit. physique gives 1 unit. health. Also affects the maximum weight of equipment, summing up with Strength.
  • Intelligence- each point of this parameter gives you additional skillcap points. It is better to upgrade on characters that you plan to engage only in crafting.
  • Strength of will- shows how many items you can carry in your hero’s backpack. Calculated by weight.
  • In addition to all the characteristics described above, there is also normal craft skills. Based on your choice of profession, you must upgrade them.
  • Combat skills- these are the opposite of crafts and aimed at military professions and classes. So it depends on your hero.

Starting Island

This is the very first location where all the new ones are located. This location is updated every week along with a wipe of everything acquired, to make it easier for beginners.

This location is, roughly speaking, an introduction to the larger world of Life is Feudal, where you can calmly learn about all the basics of the game, learning some basic points and secrets.

In the northwest you can see a village with many NPCs with quests to complete. They will tell you about the professions that exist. By the way, to view the village, you should press F4. The village is also limited by the land, which means that many actions, including murder, cannot be performed in it.

So if you want to fight with other players, then you are welcome to the PvP arena. By the way, I advise you to beware of wild animals that will calmly tear you to pieces. Bears, wolves and wild boars.

In the world of the game there are about 50 servers on which this very starting island is implemented. To travel across servers, you need to use an idol - this is a blue beam of light located above the building in the settlement. This beam will also teleport you to the main world called Avalon. But to get there, you need to get a ticket, which you need to buy from a premium store. The ticket must then be added to your inventory.

To do this, press Esc, then go to the Store. In the new window in the right corner you will find your nickname, which you should click on. This will open your Inventory, where you will find the ticket. Click Add to Inventory to move it from the warehouse. Present this ticket to the idol, or to another player if you bought it for a friend, for example, and want to go to Avalon together.

Now you need to remember that after teleporting from the starting island to Avalon, you will lose everything you have acquired. Skills and characteristics, karma points, as well as stamina and satiety parameters that you managed to earn.

However, you should not rush to escape from the initial island, because it has its own interesting secrets.

  1. There is a lot of wood that you can drag with you. Carpenters will need it. After all, there will be little wood on Avalon, and to upgrade your carpenter to 90, all the trees in Avalon will not be enough. If you start logging near someone else's village, then expect a conflict. Thus, if you decide to follow the path of a carpenter, you should know about the logs next to the forge. Each of them has 5,000 durability. Saw them to improve your carpenter skill. Moreover, you can go through servers, where each has its own logs.
  2. The food never ends! Not far from the settlement you will find fields where all sorts of fruits and vegetables grow. Harvest the crops, and when you re-enter the game, you can harvest them again. This is a great opportunity for hunters who need provisions for their pets. Well, accordingly, farmers will also need this secret.
  3. Complete security.
  4. Complete several quests that will help you gain insight into the essence of things and professions. NPCs will even give you tools that can help you achieve mastery in other crafts.
  5. There are even guilds here that calmly accept newcomers into their ranks. You can then move everyone to Avalon in an excellent composition. But it’s worth applying to the guild when you’ve figured out the basics and also slightly upgraded your skills.

Avalon

The main game world, which you are transported to after using a ticket near the idol. Avalon is much larger - there are 49 server squares. In the open world you should be wary of people because PvP is present, but in the city on server 25 there is no PvP.

The north is full of snow, in the south there is an endless desert, in the west there are steppes in which little grows. I advise beginners to start developing from the center of the map, where it is easiest to get resources and develop skills.

Accordingly, these climate zones are in the game for a reason. For example, in the north there are deposits of timber, and planted trees grow faster. In the south there are more different animals, which is suitable for hunters. There are also fields there.

If you are afraid of appearing in an unfavorable place after the initial island, then you can do the following.

  1. Go to the store to buy 10 points insurance and use it. However, if you lost a lot of karma on the starting island, you will have to buy expensive insurance.
  2. You can commit suicide by cutting your throat. Go to the daily skills tree to select Glummelinde there.
  3. Accordingly, after death you will be reborn in a new location on the map. If you have also purchased insurance, then you will appear in a good zone.
  4. If there is no insurance, then just kill yourself until you are reborn in the place you need. However, you should be aware that spawn points are placed at the edges of the map.

Of course, it will be difficult for newcomers without support, because excellent places are occupied by larger clans. You should also take into account the population of many servers, which is why there are interruptions with ping, etc.

To occupy land for yourself, you should use your own or clan claim.

To do this, you need to have coins, which you need to earn by selling unnecessary things, but most often the important ones. In the city center, for example, wolf skins are of particular value, so keep that in mind.

Own claim charges 450 points per day, and one copper will give 100 maintenance points, the cost of the starting installation is 1 copper. However, your own claim can overlap with the clan’s if it is placed next to it. On your piece of land, if you are alone and in an open place, it is better not to store particularly valuable things. But the best thing to do is find a group or friends.

Clan claim makes it possible to establish and take control of a larger territory. But to do this, you need to create a guild on the official website, and only after it has 10 people already in Avalon. By the way, an important point: when you set a claim, and there are less than 10 participants in the guild, then all the buildings collapse.

To keep the claim in condition, you need to offer him food, weapons and other resources and things. Starting from the 2nd level of the claim, it becomes visible on the global map, and it will have to be supported only with coins.

This type of claim is divided into two areas - a city area with a radius of 20 cells, as well as an area of ​​the kingdom, which can expand over time. When war is declared on you, you can easily be plundered in the royal territories and burned. But the city area is under guaranteed protection until siege weapons enter the field.

The guild that placed the claim can also declare wars or enter into alliances. In short, everything is the same as in the notorious MMORPGs. The scheme has long been clear and understandable to everyone.

Character Creation

The step from which your adventures in the world of LiF begin. You should pay attention to creating your virtual incarnation; this will later help save a lot of time and nerves.
First, decide on the gender of your character. Male and female body models have significant differences.

Pros and cons of the male model:
+ The model of the weapon in the hands of a male model is larger - the strike distance increases accordingly.
+ Men's looks more impressive, especially in armor.
+ A horse controlled by a man has a standard size - it is easier to hit it with small arms, but it is also much more convenient for the rider to use a pike or sword.

The male model is larger - it is easier to shoot, hit with a sword or trample on a horse.
- Due to its large size, some bottlenecks (such as mines) are inaccessible.

Pros and cons of the female model:
+ The female model is smaller in size and can crawl into places that are inaccessible to a man - for example, jumping from the balcony of a house or crawling into a narrow mine.
+ Since the female model is smaller, it is more difficult to hit her with a weapon or knock her down with a horse.

The female model takes it out of her pocket and mounts a horse that is much smaller than the male model, almost like a pony. Such a horse is more difficult to hit, but it will also be inconvenient for the rider herself to use a cavalry pike or sword.
- The female character's weapon model is smaller in size - the strike distance in melee has been reduced.

Alas, absolutely all the beautiful nicknames were taken by players who bought early access sets, so you will have to try. If you really don’t have much imagination, you can add a hyphen to your name or look for an alpha tester and convince him to give you a beautiful nickname.

Once you've chosen a name, customize your appearance to your liking. The character's race generally does not matter and affects the character's starting characteristics and the appearance of the armor. If you are planning to buy yourself non-standard textures for armor, then take a look at the game's premium store and choose a race in accordance with the style you like.

Next step - character characteristics:

Force- determines the maximum weight of weapons that the character can effectively use, as well as the maximum weight of equipment. Initially, I recommend setting your strength to 20 in order to use primitive weapons and at least somehow protect yourself.

Dexterity- affects the accuracy of small arms and the speed of stamina recovery in battle.

Body type- determines the number of health points (1 unit of constitution - 1 unit of health), as well as the maximum weight of equipment (combined with the bonus from Strength).

Intelligence- for each unit of this characteristic you will receive two additional skillcap points. It makes sense to take it only for fully crafted characters or siege engineers, because intelligence also determines the accuracy of throwing stones with a trebuchet.

Strength of will- determines the size of the maximum weight in the character’s inventory.

Noobostrov

So, you created a character and got to Nubo Island.

This is the starting area where all newly created characters go. It is wiped (i.e. updated) every week, the characters’ skills and inventory are preserved, but all player buildings and landscape changes disappear.

In essence, it is a demonstration site where you can get acquainted with the game for free and gain basic skills for survival in the main world.

The map is an island from the YO version; in the north-west there is a village with NPCs from whom you can receive quests that introduce the player to all professions in the game. Please note that the village is under a claim (press F4 to see it), within which many actions cannot be performed. If you cannot perform some action with an object, simply leave the territory of the claim.

It is impossible to attack other players on the island; for those who like to wave their hands, there is a PvP arena. Please note that wild animals can easily kill you. Bears, wolves, wild boars - all this is found on the island and bad people can bring them to the village.

The skill cap is limited to 200 units, in the main world the figure will rise to 400.

There are a total of 49 servers with copies of Nubo Island (see the number in the upper left corner), you can move between them through interaction with the idol (a blue beam of light above one of the village buildings). He can also move the character to one of the main game worlds. To move, you need a ticket, which can be purchased at the in-game premium store.

When moving from Nubo Island to Avalon, you will lose absolutely all items in your inventory, but you will retain:
1) All earned skills and characteristics.

Don’t rush to leave Nuboostrov, there are a lot of interesting opportunities on it:

1) A huge amount of wood that is required to upgrade a carpenter. There is very little wood in the main worlds and there is clearly not enough for all beginners who want to level up a carpenter to 90. If you start cutting down trees near someone’s settlement, there will be problems. Therefore, if you decide to level up a carpenter, pay attention to the logs next to the forge: each has 5 thousand strength, cutting out construction logs from them can raise your skill very quickly. Each of the 49 nuboislands has its own logs.

2) Endless food. Near the village there are fields from which you can harvest: cabbage, carrots, grapes - they can be eaten raw. After re-entering the game they can be collected again. Relevant for hunters who need vegetables to tame animals, as well as farmers for leveling up the “Advanced Farming” skill by grinding wheat in a hand mill (a carpenter is needed for construction).

3) Security - players will not be able to attack you, you can improve your skills in a calm environment.

4) Quests that will introduce you to all the professions in the game. In addition, NPCs will give you iron tools, use them to the fullest. Read the passage of quests in the corresponding section.

5) Here guilds recruit newcomers to their ranks, an excellent opportunity to find a team to play on the mainland. But you shouldn’t come there if you don’t know how to do anything. Get basic knowledge about the game, improve your skills a little - and look for someone to join. Interface


After creating a character, you appear on Nubo Island, which is the subject of the previous section of the guide.

After loading the world, you will see something like this:

Each interface element is marked with a number. You can move interface elements by pressing the F10 key. Remove any windows that bother you beyond the border of the screen; windows that are not on the screen are useless and will only distract you.

1. This little man will mark your character's wounds. Wounds, which are divided into wounds and fractures, reduce the character's characteristics. For example, an arrow flying into the head will reduce Intelligence, and a blow to the arm with a war hammer can reduce Strength.

2. The red bar is health, which in this game is divided into Consciousness Points (OC) and Health Points (HP). If your HP drops to 0, you will fall unconscious; if you run out of HP, you will die; at the place of your death, a grave will appear from which anyone can take all your things.

3. The yellow stripe is endurance, divided into Sprint and Marathon.
Sprint energy is spent when performing actions - running, jumping, digging the ground, striking with weapons. If it drops to 0, the character will stop in place with shortness of breath for a couple of seconds. The rate at which Sprint Stamina is restored depends on the character's Dexterity.
Marathon Endurance - the total amount of endurance a character has, determined by the character's Willpower. 1 point of Marathon Endurance = a full bar of Sprint Endurance.

4. The green bar is your satiety level. If it drops to 0, you will begin to lose Consciousness Points and then die.
The role of food in this game is also worth mentioning. The higher quality the food and the more components (from 1 to 5) you eat, the faster your peaceful and combat skills will increase.

5. This is a skill panel in which you can put up to 10 skills, each of which can be activated by pressing a button. There are 10 of these panels in total (small buttons at the top).

6. This is a chat. Standard channels - System, which contains information about increasing skills and damage received/dealt. Local chat allows you to communicate with players nearby. The chat channels marked #, testers and help are not working at the time of writing this guide, so I will not describe them.

7. This window shows the amount of karma. More about her below.

8. At the top, in the middle of the screen, the effects applied to the character are shown. The effects can be positive (for example, good luck from jewelry) and negative (poisoning from a snake bite).

Once you understand the main interface, press the P key and the equipment window will appear.

1. Equipment slots for armor (helmet, breastplate, pants, boots, gloves, bracers), tabard (cape with the guild crest) and jewelry that increases luck.

7. Food strip. Food quality 0.5 is a skill multiplier, meaning that all experience gained for skills will be multiplied by the number 0.5, i.e. decrease by 2 times. High-quality food can increase this figure to 4-5.

The karma system is one of the key components of the game, designed to regulate the behavior of players and replenish the pockets of the developers.

The higher the karma, the fewer skills you lose after death and vice versa. You can increase karma with prayers once per game day, which last 5 hours.

Karma is reduced for any hostile action towards a neutral character or for trespassing on foreign lands.

If you enter someone else's land, you may be shouted at - minus 1 karma. For causing any damage to a neutral - minus 2 karma. For killing a neutral - minus 10 karma. For opening the grave of an innocent murdered person - minus 3 karmas. Total - minus 15 karma for killing.
In all these cases, you are given the “Criminal” effect, allowing other players to attack you without losing karma.

Thus, karma keeps players from uncontrollably killing neutral characters and encourages them to buy new characters.


Perhaps the most important component of the game. Brands are structures built by the player in the form of a giant sword, creating a protective zone around themselves, within which only the owner of the brand and his friends can interact with objects and the ground.

You can occupy territory using two types of claims: personal and guild.

To create and maintain a personal claim, coins are required, which can be earned by selling valuable things in the central city - wolf skins, for example.

A standard size personal claim (3x3 cells) consumes 450 points per game day.
1 copper coin gives 100 maintenance points, the initial installation cost is 1 coin. Keep in mind that a personal claim may be overridden by a guild one placed next to it, so do not store anything particularly valuable on it.

The guild claim allows you to occupy much larger territories, the size depends on the level of the monument. To install, you need to create your own guild through the website and have at least 10 people in it, and all of them must be in the same world.

If there are less than 10 people in the guild, the monument will collapse. You can support the claim by making regular offerings to it - food, weapons, jewelry. From the 2nd level of the monument, it will be displayed on the global map and can be supported ONLY with coins.

The Guild Claim has 3 areas
1) An urban zone with a radius of 20 cells.
2) Kingdom zone, which expands over time. During the Hour of Judgment, the guild that declared war on you will be able to plunder and destroy EVERYTHING in the kingdom zone, but the city zone is under absolute protection. Buildings in the city zone can only be damaged during a siege event. Installing a siege monument can be done by an enemy claim of the 1st level and this is a VERY expensive pleasure (sieges are not included in the game).
3) Zone of influence that appears around level 3 and 4 monuments. In this zone, you can destroy personal and guild 1st level claims and buildings located on them.

The guild that erected the monument can either declare war or itself become the target of aggression, enter into alliances with other guilds, have vassals, or become dependent itself - diplomacy here is created exclusively by the players themselves. Be polite to strangers, do not show excessive aggression and remember that war is a last resort.

A stranger who enters the claim without permission can be shouted at with the “Violator” skill, and 1 unit will be removed from him. karma and the criminal effect will appear, during which he can be killed without losing karma.

Judgment Hour


During the clock of judgment (SC), you can destroy buildings in the realm zone of enemy claims, take things from chests and carts, but the city zone remains invulnerable.
Karma will still be reduced for killing neutral players.

As a rule, sieges of enemy castles and raids on unprotected buildings are organized at this time.

Trading shops

The game contains coins: copper, silver and gold.
They are calculated at the rate:
100 copper = 1 silver
100 silver = 1 gold
Coins can be used to trade with other players, but their main purpose is to feed monuments, guild or personal.

This city was built by the game developers, intended as a trade center, and initially all the newcomers appeared there.
In the city itself there are 2 useful things: houses in which you can live and trading shops that anyone can use. This is the only place where a beginner can get coins for a personal claim.

Trading shops can also be built by players themselves on the stakes, but to use them you need to obtain permission. Of course, in most cases you will be refused.

The benches have internal storage, for players without a premium account this is 100 units of weight.
The storage can be expanded by paying money to the store.
Each trading post has its own storage, but all characters on the account have access to its contents.
To display goods in the store you need:
1) Move it from inventory to storage
2) Click the Market button.
3) In the upper left corner, select the name of the store you are in. The name of the shop can be viewed on the world map by turning on the display of trade shops.
4) Click Put up for sale. In the list below you will see the items lying in the shop.

In the 1st tab you can specify the price and put the item up for sale. Quality


In LIfe is Feudal, each item has a quality, from 0 to 100. Earth, water, iron, trees, animals, weapons and armor - the list can take a long time.
Quality determines the usefulness of an item.

For example, a quality 100 weapon will do much more damage than a quality 10 weapon.
High quality food will satisfy more of your hunger.
The horse's speed and agility are also determined by quality.
High quality trees have more wood.
The quality of the crop depends on the quality of the land.
The better the materials, the more durable the building will be.

In general, the higher the quality of a thing, the cooler, more expensive it is and, accordingly, more difficult to manufacture.

Quality is influenced in varying proportions by:

1) Initial conditions - if you find quality 15 land, then nothing can be done with it. Look for an area with better soil.
2) Player skill level.
3) Quality of the tool.
4) The quality of the craft building or object. For example, the quality of the barn will affect the quality of the cattle.

The level of tools, weapons and armor is limited by the material used.
1) Iron - maximum 60.
2) Steel - maximum 80.

There are houses in the game. You can live in houses, decorate them beautifully, and then cry bitterly when your home collapses from a trebuchet stone. Life is feudal, what can you do?

You build a house, move into it (subject to availability), and after death you are reborn in it. If there is no home, you are reborn at a random point in the game world. You can also instantly move to the house from any point on the map by using the “Return Home” skill (by default on the number 8 on the skill panel), while you will leave ALL the contents of your inventory at the teleport point, but the equipment will remain with you.

There is donation in the game, but it is not capable of seriously affecting the balance.
In the store you can buy:
1) All kinds of non-standard textures for armor and weapons.

2) Insurance against loss of skills. After death you will see this window:

As you can see, if you die with 0 karma, you will lose 6 points in each skill tree.
If there were 5 units of insurance, the loss would be only 1 unit.
The lower the karma, the greater the loss of skills, so insurance is provided for as much as 30 units.

3) Boosters are accelerators for leveling up skills, increasing the growth rate of skills by 2 times for 1 hour in one of the skill branches. Another name is Hour of Power. Rollback - 22 hours. The booster time does not expire if you have left the game.

4) Tools are the most unbalanced thing in the store. You can buy iron tools from the start with maximum strength, quality 50, which will greatly help in the first days of the game.

5) Premium account is the most useful thing. Includes 30 days of comfortable play with permanent insurance of 5 units, 1 free booster in each skill tree and 1 random set of armor available for the duration of the premium.

When performing craft activities, various unusual situations may happen to you. You might find a golden amulet while digging, get a rock in the eye while digging a mine, or remember a funny story.

Strength system


All objects in the game can be destroyed. How easy it is to do this depends on two indicators: durability and damage resistance.
Strength depends on the quality of materials used in construction, maximum strength is 20,000.

Damage Resistance depends on the object itself, reducing damage received. For example, for a wooden palisade it is 400, for stone walls it is 600.

Objects and buildings that are not on the claim are destroyed, losing 500 units of strength once per game day.

Landscape and trees


The landscape in the game consists of different types of soils and materials:
Soil types:
1) Fertile soil. You can plant flax, carrots, wheat in it, that’s all, only it will give the maximum yield.
2) Soil - occurs in desert regions and remains after harvesting from fertile soil. After fertilizing with manure (Farming skill) it will become fertile.
3) Forest soil. You can plant trees and pick mushrooms on it.
The above soils can be in their original state (grass growing) or dug up. You can search for materials and edible supplies only in the primeval ones.
A farmer can make dug up soil pristine by watering it.

4) Clay. A valuable resource required in many buildings and crafts. Speeds up movement.
5) Sand. There is a lot of it on the banks of reservoirs and in the desert; glass is made from it. Slows down movement.
6) Snow. There is a lot of it in the north, you can use it to make water, snowmen and snowballs. Slows down movement.
7) Swamp is a unique soil that players cannot create. Significantly slows down movement.

An important component of the game is the system of regions into which the game world is divided.
When digging for iron or sawing out a board, there is a small chance that you will get regional resource the region you are in.

Guilds and standing system


Players can join guilds to play together.
Any character located in the main world can create a guild. This is done through the official website - you need to switch to the page of a specific character and click Create guild, after which you can select a name, tag, description.
A newly created guild has the status of a gang and will be considered as such until it puts a guild mark on itself. In this status, it is impossible to issue standings.
Statuses:
Band is a guild that does not have its own brand. Cannot participate in politics.
Country- an independent guild with a brand that does not have vassals.
Kingdom- an independent branded guild that has one or more vassal guilds.
Vassal- a dependent guild with a mark that has a suzerain. Such a guild automatically joins all the warriors of the overlord and cannot independently conduct politics.

Standings- This is the relationship between guilds, exposed by each side through the official website of the game. All standings except War must be placed mutually.

Types of standings:

Neutral- neutral, initially installed with all guilds. Claims are highlighted in yellow.

War- war. Standing is placed unilaterally, the announcement of the start of war is displayed in the system chat. Peace can be concluded by mutually displaying neutral standings.

Hostile- negative attitude. This way, one guild can express its opinion about another without declaring direct war.

Friendly- friendly guilds. The territory of claims and player nicknames are blue; karma is not removed for causing damage.

Ally- this is the status of a vassal. A large community, for its part, can be the first to expose Ally to another guild, and if that guild changes its standing to the same one, it will become a vassal.
The vassal automatically receives all the standings of his overlord (i.e., all wars), cannot independently exhibit standings to other guilds and, most importantly, cannot independently cease to be a vassal.

Instance battles


Since the game is not optimized enough, it is impossible to conduct full-fledged mass battles in the open world, and severe lags begin.

To solve this problem, the developers moved the battles of warring guilds to dedicated servers, the so-called. instances.

The order of the instance battle.
1) A representative of the attacking guild drives up to the border of the enemy’s claim and sets up a Totem, challenging opponents to battle.
Depending on the type of totem, the maximum number of fighters on each side can be 50 or 100, the cost of installation is 5 and 10 gold bars, respectively.

2) After installing the totem, participants can register to fight on one of the sides. Attackers can register through their guild monument or battle totem. Defenders - only through a battle totem.

Submitted applications are placed on a waiting list and must be approved by the head of the guild. Typically this happens in the last hour before the battle to eliminate inactive players.

3) There are a few minutes left before the battle, the list of participants has been formed. The battle has begun, and a window appears for all participants prompting them to transfer to a separate server.
On this server there will be only participants in the battle, the landscape will be without buildings and terraforming of players living in this area in the main world.

If you refuse to participate, you will remain in the main world, but will be recorded as not participating.
If you agree, you will be transferred to the instance battle server, the download will begin (sometimes VERY long)

4) The gods were merciful, the download was successful and you found yourself in battle. Battles take place on the map area next to the Totem. At the beginning, each team has 5 minutes to prepare; they cannot move far from the starting position, and the countdown begins from the start of the battle and continues while the participants are loading. If the loading takes too long, you may find yourself alone at the starting position, or even end up at the end of the battle.
After the preparation is completed, the battle stage itself begins.
The goal of the attackers is to capture a certain point, a monument, which will ensure their victory in the battle.
The goal of the defenders is to prevent the monument from being captured within an hour.
Victory will also be counted if all opponents die.
You can leave the battle if you cross the border of the battle zone - you will return to the main world with your battle, but you will be counted as a deserter.
After dying in battle, skills do not drop.

5) The battle is over, the monument is captured, all opponents are killed or fled. The winners have 10 minutes to pick up the things of the dead, which are automatically moved to the monument, after which they will be moved back to the main world to the place from where they left for the battle.

6) The battle has consequences in the main world - the monument area of ​​the losing side will be slightly reduced, and the level of the monument may be lowered. Thus, by scoring several Totems every day, you can lower the enemy’s claim to level 1 and score him a Siege Totem, which costs 10 ingots of Vostas steel. Sieges have not yet been introduced into the game.

Making primitive tools

How to make primitive tools:
1) Find a cell with fertile soil on which grass grows. Right-click on it and select Search for materials. After completing the search, the following will appear around you: Plant fibers, flint and sling shells.

Collect fibers and flint, then find wood. Also right-click on it and select Collect --- Branches. You will see the collection result in the system chat.

Now right-click on the branch in your inventory and select Make Primitive Tool.

Newbie Village: completing quests

You have become familiar with the interface, game features, skill system, and now you can begin to get acquainted with the world of the game, the main goal in which is not to die. Right now you are facing death from starvation, you need to find food.
