Games about the Chinese mafia. Mom, I'm A Criminal: The best games about the mafia and bandits

Alexandra Savina

In autumn we want to stay at home more and more, and the most common entertainment is home parties and get-togethers with friends. We've collected ten not-so-famous company games (alcohol and otherwise), most of which only require paper and pen. We are sure they will make cold autumn days more fun.

Boom

You will need: Paper and pen, timer

How to play: You can buy the board game “Boom”, or you can come up with cards for it yourself. Before starting the game, each player writes the names of famous people on several paper cards (it is better to choose celebrities who are well known to everyone present - it’s easier and more fun). The players are then divided into teams; The team is given a minute to make one move. In the first round, players need to take cards from the deck and explain to the other team members who they are talking about without saying the name of the celebrity - they get as many points as they can guess the names. When all the cards are gone, they are put back into the deck and the second round begins: now the names of the celebrities must be explained in pantomime. In the third round, names must be explained in one word. The advantage of the game is that all players are involved in it: even if it is not your turn, you need to listen carefully, because the cards are repeated.

Winking Killer

You will need: Deck of cards or paper and pen

How to play: At the beginning of the game, you need to distribute the roles and choose who will be the killer - for this you can use several cards according to the number of players (the one who draws the ace of spades becomes the killer) or write the roles on pieces of paper. Players draw a card or piece of paper without showing it to others and sit in a circle. The killer's task is to discreetly wink at other players: the one he winks at “dies.” The task of the other players is to catch the killer: at any time in the game they can accuse someone. If the killer's name is called correctly, he loses; if the player makes a mistake and calls the name of an innocent person, he also “dies.” If the killer manages to eliminate all but the last player from the game, he wins (and this is much more difficult than it seems).

21

You will need: Alcohol

How to play: Not the simplest, but very fun drinking game, different versions of the rules of which are detailed in Wikipedia. Players stand in a circle and take turns counting to 21. According to one of the most common variants of the rules, players can count one, two or three numbers. If the player names one number, the game continues in the same direction as before (for example, the person to the right of the player counts further). If he calls two numbers, the game changes direction (in our example, the next number is called by the person to the left of the player). If a person calls three numbers, the game continues in the same direction as before, but the player standing next to the counter misses a turn.

The player who must say the number 21 loses, and must also drink as punishment - and also come up with another additional rule (for example, all numbers that are multiples of three must be pronounced in English, or instead of the number 5, you must wink at one of the players). Anyone who makes mistakes, says the wrong numbers, gets confused by the new rules and is too slow must also drink as punishment. You can continue the game until you come up with your own rule for each number - or until you get tired of drinking.

Insert phrase

You will need: Paper and pen

How to play: A game that can be played throughout the evening. Give each guest a piece of paper with pre-prepared phrases (for example, “I’m thinking about running a marathon,” “Game of Thrones taught me a lot,” “What do you think of the latest Yeezy collection?”) when they come to your house. The players’ task is to, without showing their proposal to others, quietly insert it into a normal conversation. After a player says his phrase, he must wait five minutes so that others have a chance to figure him out. If during this time the person is not caught, then he receives a prize. This game also has an alcohol version: in this case, if someone was able to successfully insert their phrase into the conversation, everyone else drinks. If someone catches you using a pre-prepared phrase, you will have to drink.

Jellyfish

You will need: Alcoholic jelly or shots

How to play: Players sit in a circle at a table laden with glasses of alcohol (calculate your strength when choosing a drink!) or glasses of alcoholic jelly. At the beginning of the game, everyone looks down, and then, on the count of three, they look up and look at the other player. If you are looking at someone who is not looking at you, you are lucky; if you make eye contact, you need to shout, “Medusa!” - and drink a shot. And so on until the alcohol runs out - or you just get tired of it.

Sing Song Ping Pong

You will need: Device that plays music (but not required)

How to play: A game that appeared and became popular thanks to the film " Perfect voice" It can be played either in teams or individually. In order to achieve success in the game, you need to be able to improvise well - but it is not at all necessary to be able to sing professionally, the main thing is not to be shy. The player or team making the first move begins to sing any song (you can simply turn on the first song in the player). The remaining participants can at any time interrupt the one who is currently singing and sing another song, starting with the word that appears in the text of the first, and so on. The round continues until one of the players manages to sing his song to the end - in this case he gets a point. The game can continue until someone scores 5-10 points, depending on how long it takes you to complete one round. If desired, the game can be complicated and played in English.

Donkey

You will need: Paper and pen, alcohol (optional)

How to play: This is a drinking game, but you don't have to drink - you can assign a different penalty instead. Before the game starts, each participant receives a piece of paper on which they must write some task. All pieces of paper are put into a hat or box; Players take turns drawing one at a time, without showing it to the others. After this, the players begin to deal with their tasks one by one. Everyone has a choice: you can complete the task, you can exchange with someone who has not yet completed theirs (at the same time, you cannot discuss what task someone has), or refuse to complete the task and drink - or receive another established fine. If you get your own task, you cannot exchange it with others - you will have to complete it or drink it.

Two truths and one lie

You will need: Paper and pen (but not required)

How to play: Each player needs to come up with three sentences about themselves - two true and one false. Players take turns reading statements about themselves (in any order), and the rest need to determine what is true and what is false. After the others vote, the player tells how everything really is. The success of the game largely depends on how creatively the participants approach it - but it works well in unfamiliar company.

Firecracker

You will need: Hats, paper crowns or party hats

How to play: The good thing about this game is that you can play it discreetly throughout the evening - especially if you are having dinner at the same table. It got its name from the popular Christmas crackers in the UK and some other countries, which contain a small prize and a paper crown. Players put on hats or any other headgear, and the leader announces that all players must take them off after he takes off his. The presenter should not take off his hat immediately, but after some time, when the players are distracted and perhaps forget that the game is still going on. The one who takes off his hat last loses.

birds of a feather flock together

You will need: Paper and pen for each player

How to play: Before the game starts, the host must come up with ten categories (for example, “Silent film actresses,” “Alcoholic cocktails,” “Musicians of the 80s”). It is better to play in a large group, and the players should be divided into two teams. The presenter announces each category in turn, and the participants must write the first three words or names that come to mind that fit it. There is no point in trying to be more original than everyone else: points are awarded for words written by several people from the team. For example, a word written by three team members can be awarded three points, a word written by four team members can be awarded four points, and so on. The team with the most points wins.

These fantastic games will completely engross you in their criminal world.

Not everyone would prefer to commit crimes in games, but we still find this idea exciting and interesting. Games like these are based on characters doing terrible things that we would never admit to doing in real life.

In this list, we have collected 15 of the best games in this genre that you should definitely play.

Mafia 3

In this game, you will feel like a Vietnam War veteran, Lincoln Clay, who returns home after being seriously wounded and learns that his family is in danger. The main character decides to take back his hometown of New Bordeaux, which was occupied by gangsters from an enemy family, so he again takes up arms and fights his way through the ranks of his own “family”, destroying everyone who gets in his way and plunging New Bordeaux into chaos, which he's ever seen.

This is the Police

In this narrative-driven strategy game, players step into the role of a police chief who must resolve difficult issues throughout the game. Will you fire all black police officers because of the latest demands from City Hall and its racist rally? Will you let a bandit go if it saves the life of your best friend and his family? The choice is yours.

Yakuza 5

In this legendary franchise, players take on the role of a high-ranking member of the Japanese gang, also known as the Yakuza. Immerse yourself in honor and violence, cruelty and compassion. Yakuza 5 will show you how the Tojo clan teeters on the brink of all-out war, dragging four men and one girl of your clan into general chaos. Experience the continuation of the underworld story that will make all of Japan tremble in fear.

LA Noire

Rockstar Games, inspired by novels written in the 1940s, film noir and detective films such as L.A. Confidential, decide to create a game in the detective genre. Set in 1947 Los Angeles, players take on the role of a detective investigating crimes in a crime-plagued city across five major divisions of the Los Angeles Police Department. Players must search for clues, interrogate suspects, and uncover a huge conspiracy.

Payday: The Heist

We've all seen the movie Heat (or pretend we have, but actually only watched the first scene of The Dark Knight) and decided we could rob banks. We thought we could plan any way we could to take a huge amount of money out of the bank, screaming at everyone to stay calm, to stay grounded.

PayDay is a bank robbery simulator. By the end of the mission, a real shooting gallery begins; it is unlikely that anyone will use such a robbery plan.

The game is still a little rough, but the game concept shows that the sequel will be much better, currently available on Steam.

Yakuza 4

Crimes do not only occur in the West. Following the events of the previous three games, you once again return to the role of Yakuza boss Kazuma Kiryu, who this time is joined by three new heroes.

As with previous games, the action takes place in Kamurocho, a fictional but realistic resort town in the red light district of Shinjuku.

Monaco

These are two games at once. In one of them you will have to act secretly, and in the other you will have to desperately fight back to back with your friends. IN Monaco you will constantly be up to something, planning large-scale robberies. This game will make you fail constantly, but you will never feel like a failure.

Mafia 2

The game takes place in the late 1940s - early 50s, Mafia 2 is the best game that tells the life of a member of the Italian mafia family. You play the role of Vittorio Antonio "Vito" Scaletta - a new member of the Sicilian mafia. As Vito, you'll perform a wide variety of criminal activities, from robberies to murders, as if you were going through the storyline of The Godfather, but in the game.

The Godfather

There's no denying the quality of Francis Ford Copella's film, which even today exists as an absolute must-see. This movie is beautiful and you will see this when playing the game. You are one of the members of the Italian mafia, carrying out tasks from the film, such as preparing Michael's gun and the familiar horse's head.

You will feel like you are a family member. The game is well executed and highly recommended.

Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs is a game about crimes and their prevention. You'll have access to the City of Chicago's powerful ctOS system, which allows you to prevent crimes before they happen and stop them in the process, leaving the cops to clean up after you. The game is somewhat similar to Minority Report, but with batons and shootings.
Can you clean it up Chicago?

Grand Theft Auto 4

After the release there were many complaints that GTA4 has become more complex than in previous games in the series. People didn't like that car theft had become more difficult and you couldn't cause the same chaos. Instead of this Rockstar Games tried to create a game with a more meaningful story that talks about crime and what it looks like for a person who came to America.
Now you can’t hijack a plane and jump with a parachute, but the plot has become more developed and interesting.

You can also go bowling with your cousin which is definitely the best part of the game and no one has anything against it.

Saints Row the Third

And although the second version of the game has a lot of humor, after the release of the third version it becomes completely clear that this game is about anything but humor. In the second part you play the role of a notorious bandit, and in the third you are an influential crime boss and, in some way, a superhero.

IN Saints Row 4 the difficulty disappears and you are simply asked to be part of the game. You can get upgrades that will give your starting pistols the ability to fire explosive ammo that never needs to be reloaded. You get the opportunity to call in an airstrike in the second mission of the game.

There is a mission that is completely tuned to the power of Kanyu West.
You really should play Saints Row the Third.

Grand Theft Auto 5

Grand Theft Auto 5 is the first game in the GTA series that is not limited to one character, giving us instead the opportunity to play as three different characters at once in a long and well-written narrative.
The plot is about small crimes that lead to bigger ones. Throughout the game, government agents will try to bring the main characters to light. This is a typical plot GTA, but it's now much better implemented than ever.

Sleeping Dogs

Despite the fact that this game is more of a martial arts game than a regular shooter, it is considered a shooter. She was included in this list precisely because she is simply good and because there is no suitable category for her. In this game you will have to play the role of Shen, an undercover cop who has infiltrated the ranks of the Triads in order to put the most dangerous criminal in China in prison.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

As we've said about Saints Row 3 before, GTA:SA- this is something perfect. This is a game where you burn hemp fields with a flamethrower and gradually start to get high from it.
It's a game where you break into a military installation without knowing what you'll find, then get rewarded with a jetpack that you'll fly around on for the rest of the game.

The game is the first in the True Crime series and was released in November 2003. As you might expect from the title of the game, Streets of LA, the city in which the events take place is Los Angeles, the game's rendition of the city has most of the same street names and similar landmarks as the real Los Angeles in the real world , with only minor changes to suit the gameplay.

The plot events of this DLC take place in the city of Chicago a year after the ending of the original game. From the very first minutes we are presented with a familiar main character, but “hurray... finally it happened,” - goodbye gloomy and almost emotionless Aiden Pearce - hello Raymond Conn, better known to you under the nickname “T-Bone”. Paris of the 40s in anticipation of the Second World War and all this is seasoned with a sabotage theme in dark gray tones, almost like in the film Sin City. The gameplay of the game is at the level of 2002, but thanks to its style, you don’t pay much attention to this, because The Saboteur is a fairly strong cocktail of the best open-world games, even if not the most advanced.

Unlike Rockstar games, in LA Noire, we do not control bandits driving around the city in a car and killing everyone they don’t like on their way. The fate of a classic American cop named Col Felbs falls into our hands; in his personal charter, points about honor, dignity and professionalism are highlighted in red marker, so as you understand, life is not at all easy for him.

Or maybe buy a police chief or a mayor? Or save and buy only two cops at the intersection of your avenue so you can sleep peacefully in your office? Or maybe you should say goodbye to your accountant and bury all your secrets with him in the forest, and hire a new one? And, most importantly, don’t forget to pay the judges, otherwise your guys won’t be released on bail. And even your super-expensive lawyer won't help them. Or maybe it’s time to buy a couple of cars and visit your competitors with Thompson machine guns and restore order in their area? Or hire a couple of professionals and try to kill your competitor in his office? Or should you hire cannon fodder and arrange a massacre near the police station, solving the problem with the cops once and for all, and while there is commotion in the center, try to capture the children of your competitor and extract a tidy sum from him?.. The choice is yours.

Chicago 1930

  • PC games: mafia, gangsters, crime
  • Year: 2004
  • Genre: strategy tactics
  • Developer: Spellbound Studios

The game takes place in Chicago in the 30s of the 20th century, when gangsters ruled the streets of the city, gradually taking over the entire city. An excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in a detailed recreation of the atmosphere of Chicago of the 30s, take part in real gangster shootouts on its streets and play an important role in the history of the Prohibition era. There are two campaigns to choose from: either become an associate of Al Capone himself, Frank Niti, and gain power over the entire city, or take the side of law enforcement in the person of federal agent Eliot Ness and cleanse the city of the mafia, block by block. It is possible to play on the side of the mafia or as a government agent. Under your control are up to 15 subordinates, each of whom has their own role characteristics. A rich arsenal of weapons: pistols, revolvers, grenades, machine guns, pump-action shotguns, as well as close combat weapons - knives, brass knuckles and much more. Slowdown Mode: In critical situations, you can act faster than your opponent.

Many people know the phrase “The Mafia is immortal.” However, it’s difficult to say about the mafia, but the fact that the genre of PC games about it is not going to die is for sure. Many people like games about criminals, some like to be the “bad guy” for a certain time, but games about organized crime are a completely different matter. After all, it’s one thing to play alone, and completely different to have all the power of the invincible mafia behind you. Moreover, this usually does not affect the gameplay too much, and for this reason the plot can differ quite significantly. But sometimes the gameplay is also significantly different depending on the genre. We present to your attention a list of mafia games for the PC platform.

Vito Scaletta is known as "getting the job done right." It was with this reputation that he began to gain credibility on the streets of Empire Bay. With his friend Joe, he conscientiously carries out various assignments, gaining trust in himself from the Mafia, rising up the “family” ladder, breaking laws more and more, raising his status higher and higher and every day bringing closer the moment of meeting with the consequences of his own actions. After all, being a mafioso is not as easy as it sometimes seems.

Game Features:

  • An abundance of action: intense shootouts, fights and chases - you will need to do an incredible amount in order to become a real mafioso.
  • A gripping gangster story: the writers, inspired by the best mafia dramas, have created a great "movie" with believable characters, imbued with the spirit of the original mafia.
  • Immersion in another world - in the era of Empire Bay in the midst of the Second World War, which is very clearly visible in the architecture, cars, music and clothing. After some time, the first hot rods, music and fashion of the 1950s would appear on the streets.
  • IllusionEngine™: The proprietary IllusionEngine engine created by 2K Czech allows you to enjoy stunning seascapes and other views.
  • The musical accompaniment corresponds to the atmosphere of the time.

The game takes us to the town of Tantown, in the 1920s, during Prohibition. It's a non-stop killer action, 2D fast-paced arcade shooter platformer.

You will rebel against the gangster heyday of the 1920s, be transported into a fascinating world, witness friendship, revenge and betrayal.

This game takes you to Hong Kong, a city where the vibrant glow of neon lights tightly illuminates everyday life. This is a city whose bustling streets and exotic places of interest hide one of the most dangerous and powerful criminal communities in the world - the Triads.

This open-world game puts you in the shoes of Wei Shen, an undercover police officer working to take down the Triad gangs from within. You have to prove your worth by making your way to the top of a criminal organization, participating in brutal operations, and preventing bandits from revealing themselves.

Tossing between loyalty to a police badge and a criminal code of honor, you have to put everything on the line and not get confused between justice and loyalty.

Sleeping Dogs comes from the True Crime game series, which can be considered moderately successful. This is a game about Triad wars in picturesque neon rainy Hong Kong. Showdowns with shooting in the air and fights without any restrictions - everything here is done at the level of high-quality Hong Kong action films. Only the open world is in the background - it lacks detail, vitality and scale. However, the color is excellent.

PS3 Rockstar and Xbox 360 at the end of their life cycle released a game that caused a stir around the world. $800,000,000 in the first day of sales and $1,000,000,000 in 3 days—no other media product in the history of the entertainment industry has achieved such an impressive result.

The main changes that make GTA 5 so great are in the storytelling and open world design. The plot develops around 3 people.

Michael de Santa is a former successful bank robber, one of the best in this business, who later, in a peculiar way, left his job as part of the witness protection program. Years later, he is over 40 years old, overweight and can’t think of anything to do with himself, watching TV all day long in his luxurious Beverly Hills home, sometimes playing golf with other rich people, and more often just lying around the pool and drinking. You don’t have to be a professional psychotherapist to understand that Michael is having a midlife crisis, and a rather advanced one at that. However, he himself seems to be unaware of this, and he visits a specialist, to whom he complains, not unreasonably, about his unfaithful wife, oligophrenic children and his lack of interest in life.

Franklin Clinton is a black car thief. He works in the company of the fraudster Simon Yetaryan, who first sells cars to people on credit at enormous interest rates (the scene of him selling a Range Rover at the beginning of the game is simply magnificent), and then, when they cannot pay back the loan, he sends thugs to take away the property.

Trevor Phillips is an absolutely chilled-out redneck with a crazy look and a strange attraction to women over 50. He is not just a hillbilly, but a squared redneck: he blows his nose loudly into his hand, wears dirty pants, hates hipsters (missions and dialogues about this are done very well), sometimes wakes up on the shore in his underpants among empty bottles and corpses, and can also sit up straight in the middle of the city and pile it up.

And so, when these three characters become involved in a showdown with the craziest representatives of the criminal world and the American government, they are forced to carry out a series of risky raids in order to survive in a cruel city in which they cannot trust anyone, not even each other.

Everything in this game is great: cars, the city, gangsters, police officers, their conversations, deeds, weapons, women and friends. However, the most magnificent thing is the plot. Mafia is more like a movie than any other game. This is a kind of interactive film about gangsters. USA 1930s, Great Depression, Prohibition, white Buicks, black Cadillacs, expensive suits, Italian bars, fat cigars, Tommy guns, baseball bats, car chases, bullet-riddled glass, blood and carnage - the whole film is filled with these traditional elements, however, it is in this game that they make the picture incredibly deep, expressive and clear.
