Today’s article was written primarily for owners of smartphones from a well-known Korean brand :) And it talks about how to set up a black list of contacts in Samsung. Why did I decide to write about Samsung? Yes, because this function is hidden somehow especially deeply in it :)
For example, we used Samsung GALAXY S4 with Android Lollipop.
From some people I sometimes hear the opinion that this phone feature is unnecessary. That they are always happy to hear from everyone :) But I, for example, am completely tormented by spam in the form of SMS and calls from all sorts of financial organizations offering to invest money somewhere, insure something, etc. And the further we go, the more this information garbage becomes .
So how can you protect yourself from this?
You can do this using third-party applications. For example, this is possible in the paid version. But do you need to install another program on your device if your phone can do it itself?
But let's start already.
You received a call, the interlocutor was sent away by you, and you wanted to never hear his voice again. What are we doing about this?
We go to the call log, select the desired (or rather, no longer needed) number, click on it, and hold it for a while. A menu appears in which we select “Add to blacklist”.
Another situation is that the spammer is timid, does not dare to call and limits himself to sending SMS messages.
The sequence of our actions will be approximately the same. We go to the SMS log, select the same message, press and hold until the menu appears. Select “Add to spam numbers”.
That's sorted out.
Now let’s talk about how to look at our blacklist and remove the number from there (what if? 🙂).
Go to “Settings” - “Calls” - “Call Rejection” - “Black List”. Hidden deep, as I promised :)
Here we see all the numbers that are rejected when trying to call you. If desired (rather strange, in my opinion :) you can remove all or some numbers from there.

Editing the blacklist on your phone
Let's move on to practice: so, where is the blacklist in Samsung, and how to edit it? In order to enter an unwanted number into it, you need to go to the “Settings” menu. Look for the “Applications” item in it, then go to the “Calls” sub-item, then “All calls”, then “Activation”.
After enabling activation, select “Add to list” and begin the action: add subscribers from the phone book to it. If the people you need are not recorded in it, you have the opportunity to enter numbers manually. Another way: add a phone from the call log; to do this, select the number and call the context menu. In it, find the “Add to blacklist” tab and send the unnecessary user there.
Removal from the black list is carried out either through the activation interface or from the call log in the same way as adding.
Blacklist management programs
On Samsung, you can add to the blacklist not only using the services of a mobile operator or the built-in options of the device. It is much cheaper and more convenient to use special applications that provide greater capabilities for managing incoming contacts.
This applies not only to calls, but also to messages, as well as allowing calls from certain subscribers if there is no desire to communicate with others. Open the call log, select the options for the unwanted number and click “Add to blacklist.” Now this subscriber will not be able to call you.
Removing a number from the list
If you mistakenly added a number to the blacklist (and practice shows that this often happens), then it should be removed from there. We find the list using the method described above, and look for the number there that we accidentally added. Select it and click on the “Remove from list” item. That's it, now this number will be able to call you.
Differences in menu items
Depending on what phone model you have, the names of the menu items may differ slightly, but in general the logic of working with this function remains the same. So if some menu item on your phone does not match the description given here, then it’s okay. Just choose points that are more or less logical. The function itself should be in the “Calls” section.

If nothing works out
Phones based on the Android operating system allow you to install third-party programs. The Play.Market service is full of third-party applications that can replace the built-in function. We recommend using them only if you are unable to find it or if it is simply missing.
In Play.Market, in the search, enter: “black list”, and you will immediately see a list of available applications (including free ones) that also prohibit calling certain unwanted contacts. This way, you won't have to fumble through settings to block calls to a specific contact. You will have to use the settings of the application itself, which appears on the desktop after installation.
Which application is better to install? It is advisable to choose those programs that users respond positively to. Be sure to read their opinions. This way you can weed out many complex and poorly functional programs. Also, you should not choose paid applications, because there are many more free ones, and their functionality is no worse, and sometimes even better.
Now you know how to find the blacklist on a Samsung phone and use it. There is nothing complicated about this, because the developers try to make menu items accessible and intuitive to everyone.

- Open the Phone application.

LG
For owners of smartphones from another South Korean company, the procedure is very similar.
- Open the Phone application.
- Click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select “Call Settings” from the pop-up menu.
- In the General section you will find the Call Rejection option. Select the Reject calls from option and add the number to the list.

For quite some time now, modern phones and smartphones have had such a built-in function as “Black List” - the ability to add contacts or numbers to the list of those with whom you do not want to communicate. However, sometimes you need to protect yourself from everyone - except a select few. This list has its own name - “White List”.
Not all phones have the ability to create white lists by default, this also applies to gadgets with Android OS. What are the ways to solve this problem? First, try to use the services of your cellular operator (we have a telephone, remember?). For example, a megaphone has a “white list”; that’s what the service is called. So, download it for free from the play market and install it on your device. Now a new icon with an old telephone will appear on the screen of your gadget.
However, we won’t launch it yet - we need to reboot the device. After the reboot, look at the menu. And here there is a pleasant surprise - it is in Russian; The translation is really not very good, but the main thing for us is functionality, right?

P.S. The telephone number of the incoming call (as the device receives it) must be exactly the same as recorded in the phone book - otherwise the identification may be incorrect. For example, it is necessary to use “+7” and not “8” at the beginning of the number.
UPD: An error occurred in the application
It is worth noting that the program may not work correctly on all phone models. For example, we have a ZTE blade a5 pro phone. If you install the Whitelist Call Blocker application on it, add certain numbers to the white list and turn it on, then when you call from a number not included in this list, the program gives an error and the call goes through:
